As we know, veterans are reliable, self-motivated, disciplined, loyal, process driven and team-oriented individuals. These key attributes make them great candidates for a career in the ever-growing IT industry. There are 4 million active military members currently serving, and more than 165,000 members transition out annually.
But did you know that after one year after exiting the service, a large percentage of veterans are under-employed or unemployed? While we can and should do more to reward them for serving, hiring Veterans just makes good business sense. These individuals often have access to free skills training, and many are highly mobile and willing to relocate. Additionally, you may be able to capture tax credits. Perhaps even more compelling is that statistically, once a Veteran finds the right job and company match, they stay longer than non-Veterans.
